coral island group in the French overseas territory of New Caledonia, southwestern Pacific Ocean. Comprising le Pott and le Art (the largest, 10 mi by 3 mi) and several islets, they lie within the northern continuation of the barrier reef that surrounds the main island of New Caledonia. Their total land area is 26 sq mi (67 sq km). Pop. (1981 est.) 703.
