CLOTEN

the stepson of Cymbeline in Shakespeare's Cymbeline. Cloten is a boorish, lecherous bully who is strongly contrasted with Imogen's husband, Posthumus. Though Cloten shows some courage in his ill-considered defiance of the Roman general Caius Lucius, his role in the play remains largely divided between comedy and villainy.
