COPENHAGEN ZOO

formally Copenhagen Zoological Garden, Danish Kbenhavns Zoologisk Have zoological garden founded in 1859 in Copenhagen, Den. Though privately owned, the zoo receives financial support from the government. Approximately 2,500 specimens of over 375 species are exhibited on the 10-hectare (25-acre) grounds. Included are many rare species, such as the musk ox and Sumatran rhinoceros. The zoo also features a very large and comprehensive bird collection.
