Welsh poet, master of the cywydd form (characterized by rhyming couplets), whose poems express his belief in tradition and aristocracy. Many of his poems reflect his support of the political aspirations of the Tudors; others are simple and sincere love poems. Llio's Hair and Maiden's Elegy are considered to be his finest cywyddau. The Poetical Works of Dafydd Nanmor, edited by Thomas Roberts and Ifor Williams, appeared in 1923.
