also spelled Daland Zadagad, town, south-central Mongolian People's Republic, in the Gobi (desert). It is connected by road to Ulaanbaatar, the national capital, 320 miles (514 km) north-northeast. Local brown and bituminous coal deposits are worked commercially. Industries include cement production. Pop. (1979) 10,100.
