GALTON, SIR FRANCIS

born Feb. 16, 1822, near Sparkbrook, Birmingham, Warwickshire, Eng. died Jan. 17, 1911, Grayshott House, Haslemere, Surrey English explorer, anthropologist, and eugenicist, known for his pioneering studies of human intelligence.
