wife of Humphrey, duke of Gloucester in Shakespeare's Henry VI, Part 2. Eleanor is angered by her husband's resolve not to seek the throne of England for himself. Her attempts at sorcery and her actions against Queen Margaret's supporters provide them with the excuse to destroy Humphrey.
