Meaning of INAZAWA in English

city, Aichi ken (prefecture), Honshu, Japan, in the Owari plain. It was a small rural town during the Tokugawa period (16031867), producing vegetables for the market of nearby Nagoya. Increased urbanization in the area since World War II, however, sparked Inazawa's growth as a residential and industrial suburb of Nagoya. Textiles and machinery are produced. Pop. (1990) 96,277.
