Russian Krasny Luch, Krasnyi Luch, or Krasnyj Luc, formerly (until 1929) Krindachyovka, or Krindachevka, city, Luhansk oblast (province), Ukraine, on the southern slopes of the Donets Hills. Originally established at the beginning of the 20th century as Krindachevka, it became the city of Krasnyy Luch in 1929. Krasnyy Luch is an important anthracite-mining centre of the Donets Basin coalfield. There are coal-enriching plants, a machine-tools factory, and light industries. The city is linked by rail to Ivanivka. Pop. (1993 est.) 115,000.
