town, Kymen lni (province), southeastern Finland. It lies along the Kymi River, just northwest of Kouvola. Part of a major industrial district that contains the Kymi Company factories, one of the largest paper and cellulose producers in Scandinavia, the town also has a hydroelectric-power station. Kuusankoski and neighbouring Voikka are linked by special rail service to Kouvola, and thence to Helsinki (the national capital) and Kotka. Pop. (1992 est.) mun., 21,774.
