a courtier attending Frederick in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Le Beau is a foppish character whose verbose speech and silly posing make him the target of gibes from Rosalind, Celia, and Touchstone. He is ennobled, however, by the risks he takes to warn Orlando that his life is endangered.
