MANGANG

also spelled Mangen, or Mangan village, Sikkim state, northeastern India, on the North Sikkim Highway. A trading centre, it lies on the east bank of the Tista River, south of where it joins the Talung. Mangang has a hospital, a rest house, and a small hydroelectric project. A monastery and higher secondary school are nearby. Pop. (1981) 780.
