MICROCYCAS

a genus of palmlike cycads (plants of the family Cycadaceae), native to Cuba. The only species, corcho (M. calocoma), is columnar in habit and occasionally branched; it reaches heights of 9 m (30 feet) or more and is often mistaken for a palm.
