town, central Luzon, Philippines. The town lies between Manila Bay and Dagatdagatan Lagoon opposite Caloocan City, just north of Manila. It is an important fishing centre for the metropolis; as much as one-half of the total Philippine commercial fish catch is landed there. Bagoong (prawn paste) and other fish preparations are produced at Navotas and nearby Malabon. Pop. (1990) 187,000.
