city, Osaka Urban Prefecture (fu), Honshu, Japan, in the northern part of the Kochi-gawa (Kochi River) plain. Many ancient relics attest to prehistoric settlement in the area. With the construction of a railway line to Osaka in 1910, Neyagawa grew as a residential suburb. The few large-scale factories produce metal products, transportation equipment, and textiles. Pop. (1983 est.) 258,907.
