Additional reading No full biography of Oxenstierna exists. Nils Ahnlund's magisterial monograph, Axel Oxenstierna intill Gustav Adolfs dd (1940), stops short at 1632. Wilhelm Tham, Axel Oxenstierna: Hans ungdom och verksamhet intill r 1612 (1935), is indispensable for the early years. Oxenstierna's enormous correspondence has been in course of publication since 1888.
