Meaning of PALIM, in English

formerly Kpalim, town, major commercial centre in the Plateaux region, southwestern Togo, western Africa, situated about 70 miles (110 km) northwest of Lom, the national capital. The town lies in a mountainous area important for cultivation of coffee, cacao, and oil palms. A large portion of these crops is transported from Palim by road and rail to Lom. Palim serves as a major centre for commercial trade in Togo. The Ewe people inhabit the town and surrounding area. Pop. (1981) 27,669.
