the king of Bohemia in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. Much like Leontes, Polixenes is prone to fits of rage and is often unable to see the broader perspective. Yet Polixenes avoids drastic measures and is, at times, quite comical. He reacts rashly on Florizel's behalf, but even this behaviour, spurred as it is by genuine concern, is more reasonable than that of Leontes.
