RORQUAL

any of five species of baleen whales of the genus Balaenoptera and the family Balaenopteridaenamely, the blue whale, fin whale, sei whale (qq.v.), Bryde's whale, and minke whale. The term is often extended to include the humpback whale (q.v.), the only other member of the family.
