RUNDI

the peoples of the Republic of Burundi, who speak Rundi, a Bantu language. The Rundi are divided into two main ethnic groups: the Hutu (q.v.), the shorter and darker-skinned group, who form a subordinate majority of farmers; and the Tutsi (q.v.), an aristocratic minority of taller, lighter-skinned pastoralists. A small third group, the pygmy Twa (q.v.), are hunters and potters.
