SLENDER

the cousin of country justice Robert Shallow and a suitor to Anne Page in Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. A dull-witted country bumpkin, Slender is presented to Anne as a suitor by Shallow and Master Page, though he has no real interest in wooing her. He is strictly a comic character.
