( (Chinese: sacrificial vessel), ) Pinyin Zun, any of a wide range of Chinese vessel types, generally of the Shang dynasty (18th12th century Bc ) and early Chou dynasty (1111c. 900 BC), all of which have an ample interior volume probably meant for containing wine. There are two essential varieties of tsun. One is shaped like a much enlarged kuthat is, tall and somewhat trumpet-shaped. The other variety consists of various animal shapes, often densely embellished with animal decoration.
