a Christian saint who was sent from Rome to England with 40 monks to teach Christianity to the Anglo-Saxons . The king of Kent , Ethelbert, was converted by him and became a Christian. Augustine built a church in his capital city, Canterbury , and became the first Archbishop of Canterbury .
