( in full the British Standards Institution )
the organization responsible for establishing the standard sizes for goods produced in Britain, such as clothes, tools and containers. It is also responsible for making sure that things such as electrical goods and children’s toys are not dangerous. Goods that have been tested by BSI and found acceptable are given a label in the shape of a heart, called a Kitemark . Since 1998 the BSI Group has provided services in standards and testing in over 100 countries.
