a town in Kent , England, on the River Medway . Henry VIII established a royal dockyard for building ships there, and some of Britain’s most important military ships were built there until 1984, when the dockyard became a museum.

( William Pitt, also called Pitt the Elder 1708–78)
a British Whig (1) Prime Minister (1756–61 and 1766–86) who was called the Great Commoner because he was so popular in the country. He was also known as a great speaker in Parliament , and successfully led Britain in the Seven Years War against France.
