Meaning of COLE in English

(1919–65)

a US singer, especially of love songs, with a soft and pleasant voice. He was also an excellent piano player. He was the first African American to have a programme on radio (1948–9) and television (1956–7). His most successful songs included Mona Lisa (1950) and Rambling Rose (1962). His daughter, Natalie Cole (1949– ), is a singer who received a Grammy award for Unforgettable (1991) in which she added her voice to her father’s old recording.
