I . Francis Ford Coppola
(1939– )
an American who writes, produces and directs films. He is best known for three films about the same criminal family, The Godfather Parts I—III (1972, 1974, 1990). He received three Oscars for these and another for writing Patton (1970). He directed the expensive Apocalypse Now (1984) about the Vietnam War and produced Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994). Coppola is the uncle of the actor Nicholas Cage and the father of the director Sofia Coppola .
II . Sofia Coppola
(1971– )
an American who writes, produces and directs films. She received an Oscar for writing Lost in Translation (2003). She is the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola .
