an English public school (1) for boys near Windsor (I)(1) in Berkshire, started in 1440 by King Henry VI . Its students are mainly from rich families, and many of Britain’s public figures were educated there. Its former students are known as Old Etonians . There is a strong sense of competition between Eton and Harrow , another boys’ public school:

Princes William and Harry were sent to Eton.
