(1791–1867)
an English scientist. His family was very poor and he had to teach himself about science, before becoming the assistant of Humphrey Davy . His early work was in chemistry, but his most famous work was in physics. He discovered electromagnetic induction, the condition under which a magnet can produce electricity. This led to the development of the electric dynamo and motor. His discoveries in the field of electrolysis are still known as Faraday’s Laws .
