I . Ava Gardner
(1922–90)
a US film actor who was once called ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’. She was especially successful in the 1950s and 1960s. Her films included Mogambo (1953), Bhowari Junction (1956), On The Beach (1959) and The Night of the Iguana (1964).
II . Erle Stanley Gardner
(1889–1970)
a US author of over 140 crime novels and short stories. His best-known character was Perry Mason but he also wrote a series of novels about District Attorney Doug Selby.
