Meaning of GNVQ in English

( in full General National Vocational Qualification ) n

a type of qualification introduced in 1992 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is designed to prepare students in schools and colleges to do certain jobs, and is offered in subjects such as business, tourism and computer skills. They are gradually being replaced by GCSEs and other qualifications.
