I . Billy Graham
(1918– )
a US evangelist and minister in the Southern Baptist Church. He has led large religious meetings in many countries around the world. During these ‘Crusades for Christ’, Graham asks people to come forward and give their lives to Christ, and millions have done so.
II . Katherine Graham
(1917–2001)
a US newspaper owner who was one of America’s most powerful women. She published the Washington Post from 1968 to 1978 (during the time it discovered Watergate ), and controlled the The Washington Post Company which owns Newsweek magazine. Graham won a Pulitzer Prize in 1998 for her book about her life, Personal History .
III . Martha Graham
(1894–1991)
a US dancer and choreographer who helped to develop modern dance. She began her own dance company in 1929 and designed more than 160 works including Appalachian Spring (1944) and Seraphic Dialogue (1955). Graham received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1976.
