a US actor who has often played innocent and silly characters in comedy films. She first became famous on the comedy television series Laugh-In (1968–74). She won an Oscar for Cactus Flower (1969), and her other films include There’s a Girl in My Soup (1970), Private Benjamin (1980) and First Wives Club (1996).
