I . Audrey Hepburn

(1929–93)

a British actor, born in Belgium. She won an Oscar for Roman Holiday (1953) and her other films include War and Peace (1956), Funny Face (1957), The Nun’s Story (1959), Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) and My Fair Lady (1964). After her film career she worked for UNICEF, visiting children in trouble all over the world. In 1992 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom .

II . Katharine Hepburn

(1909–2003)

a US actor, especially in films, who was best known for playing forceful women, and for her clear, strong voice. She won Oscars for her performances in Morning Glory (1933), Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967), The Lion in Winter (1968) and On Golden Pond (1981). Her other films include The Philadelphia Story (1940) and The African Queen (1951). She had a long love affair with Spencer Tracy and made several films with him.
