a member of a Protestant religious group living mainly in the US states of South Dakota , North Dakota and Montana , and also in Alberta in Canada. The Hutterites were established in 1533 in Moravia in Czechoslovakia as a division of the Anabaptists, and are named after Jacob Hutter. Their way of life is similar to that of the Mennonites . It includes common ownership of property and a refusal to use violence.
