Meaning of KEATS in English

(1795–1821)

an English poet. He is considered to be one of the greatest figures of the Romantic Movement and was a friend of Shelley (II), Hazlitt and Wordsworth . His best-known poems include Ode on a Grecian Urn , Ode to a Nightingale , To Autumn and La Belle Dame Sans Merci , all written in 1819. Common themes in his poems are the beauty of nature and the short time available for human life and happiness. He died in Rome of tuberculosis (= a disease of the lungs), aged only 26. His Letters were published in 1848.
