I . Mike Leigh

(1943– )

an English film and theatre director. His work is about people’s ordinary lives, and is often funny and satirical. His texts are often created working together with actors. His films for television include Nuts in May (1976) and Abigail’s Party (1977) and his cinema films include High Hopes (1988), Secrets and Lies (1996), Topsy Turvy (1999) about the writing of The Mikado and All or Nothing (2002).

II . Vivien Leigh

(1913–67)

an English actor, born in India. She achieved great success in the London theatre in the 1930s. She married Laurence Olivier in 1940 and they moved to Hollywood , where she won Oscars for Gone with the Wind (1939) and A Streetcar Named Desire (1951).
