MERCIA


Meaning of MERCIA in English

one of the Anglo-Saxon regions of England, occupying a large area of central England. It was established in the 6th century and was very powerful during the 8th century, when it was ruled by Offa, who built Offa’s Dyke . Recently, the name Mercia has started to be used again in the names of organizations, buildings and companies in central England.
