I . Montana
a large state in the north-western US, on the Canadian border. The capital city is Helena, and the largest city is Billings. Montana became a state in 1889, and is also called the Treasure State. It produces many minerals, and its mines once supplied half of all US copper. It also produces grain, potatoes, sheep and cattle. Montana’s tourist attractions include the Rocky Mountains , Yellowstone National Park , the Glacier National Park and the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.
II . Joe Montana
(1956– )
a US professional football player with the San Francisco 49ers. He was captain of the team when they won four Super Bowls (in 1982, 1985, 1989 and 1990). He was also the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player in 1989. After 16 years with San Francisco, Montana played briefly with the Kansas City Chiefs.
