I . ‘Baby Face’ Nelson

(1908–34)

a US criminal, born Lester Gillis in Chicago . He worked for a time with Al Capone and later robbed banks with John Dillinger and ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd . He was named ‘ Public Enemy No 1 ’ by the FBI in 1934 after killing several people. Soon afterwards he was shot dead by FBI men during a gun battle in Barrington, Illinois .

II . Lord Nelson

( born Horatio Nelson 1758–1805)

an English admiral who became famous for winning a number of sea battles against the French in the 1790s. These victories strengthened British military power at sea, and prevented Napoleon’s forces attacking Britain. Many people know that Nelson lost his right arm and his right eye in different battles, and there is a famous story that he said ‘Kiss me, Hardy’ to another officer just before dying at Trafalgar . He was made a viscount (1) in 1801.

III . Willie Nelson

(1933– )

a US country music singer and writer of songs. He was very popular in the 1970s and his most successful songs included On the Road Again and Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain .
