an officer with the US Justice Department during Prohibition . With a team of men called the ‘ Untouchables ‘ he led surprise attacks on illegal alcohol operations run by Al Capone in Chicago , and helped to end Capone’s criminal career. The US television series and film, both called The Untouchables , were based on Ness’s work.
