Meaning of PANHANDLE in English

a narrow piece of land that sticks out from the main part of a state, like the handle of a pan. Two well-known examples are the Florida panhandle and the Texas panhandle, both of which stick out to the north-east of their states.

to beg for money, especially in the street, e.g. by holding out a pan by its handle. A person who begs is called a panhandler .
