an English journalist and television presenter, best known for the programme Parkinson (1971–82 and 1998–2004), a popular Saturday night chat show. Parkinson often writes and talks about Yorkshire and especially the town of Barnsley, where he was born. He is sometimes referred to informally as ‘Parky’.
