PENNSYLVANIA

a state in the north-eastern US, also called the Keystone State for its central position among the 13 original states. The largest city is Philadelphia , and the capital city is Harrisburg. The area was established for Quakers in 1681 by William Penn , who named it Pennsylvania (‘Penn’s small forest’) for his father. The Battle of Gettysburg was fought there during the American Civil War . The state produces chemicals, medicines, electronic equipment and farm products. Tourist attractions include Valley Forge and the Pennsylvania Dutch (1) region.
