a full-length Walt Disney cartoon film (1940). It is based on an Italian story about a wooden puppet that becomes a real boy. When the boy tells a lie, his nose grows longer. The story is told by the character Jiminy Cricket, who sings When You Wish Upon a Star , a song that won an Oscar and later became the theme song for a Disney television series.
