POMP AND CIRCUMSTANCE

a set of five marches by the English composer Edward Elgar, written between 1901 and 1930. A version of one of them later had words written for it and was given the title Land of Hope and Glory . This is played every year at the Last Night of the Proms , with the audience singing the words.
