an English pop singer. He began his career singing with The Shadows group in 1958, achieving success with Living Doll (1959). A series of musical films followed, including Summer Holiday (1962). He continues to produce popular records, e.g. Saviour’s Day (1990), and was made a knight in 1995. He is well known for his Christian beliefs.
