Meaning of SENECA in English

n ( pl Senecas or Seneca )

a member of a Native-American people who formed the largest group in the Iroquois League . They supported the British during the American Revolution , which led to their villages being destroyed by US troops. Senecas now live mainly on four reservations (= lands given and protected by the US government) in western New York and eastern Ohio .
