a US writer of books, films, plays and television series. Several of his novels have been made into films, including The Other Side of Midnight (1977). His other books include Windmills of the Gods (1987) and Morning, Noon and Night (1995). He has written six Broadway plays and won a 1959 Tony award for Redhead . His 23 films include The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer (1947), for which he won an Oscar , and Annie Get Your Gun . Sheldon also wrote the successful television shows I Dream of Jeannie and Hart to Hart (1979).
