I . Richard Steele
(1672–1729)
an Irish writer of plays and essays. He moved to London as a young man, and wrote several comedy plays. They contained more social and moral comments than the popular Restoration comedies , and were not very successful. He is best remembered for starting two magazines, The Tatler (2) and The Spectator (2) , for which he wrote essays about literature and moral questions.

II . Tommy Steele
(1936– )
an English actor and singer, known for his lively and cheerful personality. He began his career as a pop star in the late 1950s and later appeared in many West End musical shows (including Half a Sixpence ) as well as films and television programmes.
